South Lake Campus Library

The South Lake campus library provides full library services, including reference, library instruction, print and online collections, provision of mobile audiovisual equipment, and a 16-station computer classroom that is utilized for library instruction and as an open computer lab.
Library History
The South Lake campus opened in Clermont on September 29, 1999. All campus functions operated from a multi-purpose building. This building initially served LSCC students, faculty and staff. The large classroom-sized space that was designated for library use was quickly outgrown. The library was expanded in 2003 to encompass an adjoining classroom and computer lab.In 2007, planning began for the development of a joint-use library to serve the College, UCF students, faculty and staff as well as the Lake County Library System. The new 50,000 square foot facility, featuring wireless computer access, will serve LSCC, UCF and the community for years to come. The new building will retain the name of the Cooper Memorial Library, in commemoration of the South Lake area's first public library and will open in the fall of 2009.
LSCC and UCF students will not only benefit from the start-of-the-art reference and resource addition to the campus' two current buildings, but also a bookstore, restaurant, three general and two computer classrooms, and a number of small and large group-study rooms with technology for practicing presentations. The community will enjoy full library services, including general access to computers, a 6,000 square foot children's section and a separate area for teenagers.
