How to Access the LSCC Wireless Network
Wireless internet access is currently available on the South Lake (see
South Lake coverage map), Leesburg (see Leesburg
coverage map) and Sumter campuses (see Sumter coverage map).
The LakerNet wireless network is designed for public access web browsing. All wireless devices should pick up the LakerNet network because the SSID (service set identifier, or network name) is being broadcast.
Only http and https protocols are supported. FTP and instant messaging are not available via the wireless network.
The following instructions show how to connect a Windows XP-based laptop computer to
the wireless network. Depending on the specific configuration of your computer, the
steps you take may be slightly different.
Many computers will automatically connect to the LakerNet. If your computer
does not, access its wireless connections by double-clicking on the wireless
connection icon in the system tray at the bottom of the desktop:

Then, click on the View Wireless Networks button to view the
available networks:

Then click on LakerNet for connecting options:

Click on the Connect button at the bottom of this window:

Open a web browser window. You may be presented with a
Security Alert dialog box. Click on Yes to proceed.
You will be directed to the following login screen:

The Leesburg campus User Name is “guest”
and the password is “guest.” The
South Lake campus User Name is “slguest“ (case sensitive)
and the password is “slguest“. The Sumter Campus
