Can I register Online?

LSCC offers current students the option of registering for courses over the web. Fee payment via the Web is not available; however, students can mail their payments to the Business Office at LSCC. View Course Schedule

What is the difference between Current, Early, Open, Late, and Add-Drop registration?

  • Current Student Registration: Students enrolled in the previous semester will receive registration appointment cards in the mail. Students may register at the time designated on their appointment card or at any later time during scheduled registration. Appointment times are determined by the total number of credits earned.
  • Early Registration: All students who apply for admission or reactivation prior to the deadline are eligible for early registration. Registration appointment cards are mailed approximately two weeks before early registration and must be presented in order to register.
  • Open Registration: Currently enrolled, returning, and new students may register during open registration. Appointment cards are not required.
  • Students may register during late registration but will be assessed a late fee of $30.
  • Add-Drop: Students may adjust their schedules during the Add/Drop period.

How can I get a copy of the catalog/schedule?

The schedule and catalog are both available online as well as on all three campuses.

How can I see a counselor?

Call for an appointment: 365-3574 (Leesburg Campus).
On registration days, walk-ins are accepted.

What degrees/certificates are offered at LSCC?

For a list of the programs and associate degrees offered at LSCC, please see the Degrees porition of our website or download the Catalog. The "Degrees and Programs" section contains information about the various programs offered (such as Certificates, Dual Enrollment, and Continuing Education) and the "Graduation and Discipline Degree Requirements" contains the graduation requirements for Associate in Arts, Associate in Applied Science, and Associate in Science degrees.

Will I have to take any tests?

Pursuant to Florida Statute (f.s.) 240.117 students who intend to enter a degree program at any public community college and non-degree seeking students who plan to take a general education course (English, math, humanities, social science or science) MUST take theFlorida College Entry Level Placement Test (FCELPT) for the purpose of assessing basic computation and communication skills prior to registering for class.

The following students are exempt from taking the FCELPT to determine college readiness:
  1. Students who present scores on either the College Board's SAT-1 or American College Testing Program's Enhanced ACT that meet or exceed the State's mandated minimum.
  2. Students who present an official high school transcript indicating the completion of a college ready diploma.
  3. Transfer students who have completed a college level English or math course with a "C" or higher
Students must obtaing an Placement Test Referral Form from the Admissions Office prior to reporting for testing.

The computerized placement test is given on a walkin basis in the Learning Center on the Leesburg campus. A picture ID and Placement Test Referral form must be presented at the time of testing.

Testing is by appointment only at the South Lake and Sumber Campuses.

What is Orientation?

Orientation is mandatory for all degree-seeking, first time in college and transfer students. Its purpose is to provide important information that will help students make the transition to LSCC. Students who do not attend orientation will not be allowed to register.

I have a scholarship...do I go to Financial Aid or the Foundation office?

Financial Aid handles the following scholarships:

  • Florida Academic

  • Presidential (2nd Year - 1st Year is Foundation)

What are the hours of the cashier's office, financial aid, and bookstore during registration?

Where are parking decals issued?

Parking decals are required for all motor vehicles parked on campus. These are issued through security or the receptionist desk located in the MP Building, together with a brochure of parking rules and regulations. Persons who violate college parking regulations are subject to ticketing and fines.

Florida Residents: $67.94
Out-Of State Residents: $251.72

Do the fees have to be paid when I register?

Payment may be made online through LOIS.

How much do books cost and where can I buy them?
