Hybrid-New Student Orientation (NSO)

WELCOME TO HYBRID NEW STUDENT ORIENTATION!

Participating in New Student Orientation is one of the most important first steps you will take towards a successful transition to LSCC, and our Hybrid format allows you to do so in two comfortable and user-friendly segments.    

The initial segment of our NSO program takes place online.  In the comfort of your home, you will review key concepts and policies that students need to know to navigate college life at LSCC successfully.  A pre and post test survey is given during this segment to help you identify what you have learned from the online portion of the program, and you will use these results as your “ticket” into the next component of orientation - the live advising segment of NSO.  During the live advising segment, you will learn how to utilize LSCC online tools including LOIS, Laker Mail, and the online course schedule.  You will also receive a personalized academic advising guide to help you plan for your first semester of classes.
